What’s an account manager at Brandyard like?
Brandyard account managers are all about communication, understanding and responsibility. As the bridge between client and the rest of the team, account managers must be able to convey both the client’s needs and objectives as well as the team’s intent and solutions clearly. As the key contact for day-to-day management, our account managers can communicate with and adjust to different clients, brands and team members with ease.
Working within a team rooted in design and strategy, Brandyard account managers are mindful of what makes each client special and helps the team strategize on the best ways to showcase it. Armed with the willingness to learn, they are always on the lookout for what’s new, and love to ask how else they can make something better.
On a given day you might
- Handle day-to-day coordination between client and the rest of the Brandyard team
- Organize the various projects that are ongoing at any time to prevent overlapping of projects and to ensure timeliness execution of work and high-quality submissions to client
- Communicate with team and clients to keep everyone up to date on each project’s progress
- Create and write brand guidelines with the Creative Director
- Study design briefs and collaborate with Designers to determine the appropriate brand messaging for brand building
- Put together and coordinate creative teams with outside partners such as photographers, stylists, producers, video editors, printers, etc. (including getting quotations, coordinating schedules and attending shoots) to complete projects through implementation.
- Cultivate and nurture creativity within the team by sharing insights, ideas and trends.
- Generate contact reports, cost estimates and invoices.
The ideal person
- Personable and flexible, able to handle and adapt to a variety of clients and needs while also considering the team’s well-being
- Possesses confidence to try new things, to be bold and go the extra mile
- Able to look beyond the surface, to be able to drill down to what makes a client tick in order to create a jump-off point for the design team.
- Able to present concepts and ideas in a clear and concise way
- Detail-oriented, open to constructive criticism, and a team player
- Self-motivated and proactive, can self-manage time and responsibilities to meet deadlines, has strong written and verbal communication skills and isn’t afraid to ask questions.
- Knows their way around Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) or similar software (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Keynote)
- Understands that design is about solving problems and communicating what a brand stands for, it’s not just about making things look good (although of course, we do that too!)
