Islas Pinas by Chef Margarita Forés is a Food and Heritage Village where one can explore and enjoy food from around the country and visit iconic sites like Calle Crisologo and the Banawe Rice Terraces, all within one space. For this project, we created the name and identity for Islas Pinas, designed the various signages, menu boards, packaging, tableware and communications.

The patterns were influenced by textiles from the different regions of the Philippines as well as the Machuca tiles that filled houses in the early 1900s. The wordmark was crafted with inspiration from vintage Philippine travel posters.

Pinoys are punny.

Urban Manila is not complete without tusok-tusok carts around each street corner. Feast on everything from easy snacks like squid balls to the not-for-the-faint-hearted isaw (chicken intestines) or adidas (chicken feet). The phrases we put on the food carts stay true to Pinoy humor, utilizing puns and witty remarks.

Posters in various locations provide context behind certain landmarks with information available in both Tagalog and English.
